Green is everywhere. Energysaving green light
bulbs, green furniture, even green mouse pads.
Hardly a month goes by without an ecologyminded group
promoting a new green incentive.
Kermit the Frog should be
proud.
Copresco
found a way to dramatically impact our energy consumption by replacing the
outdated lighting system throughout the entire building.
The new 5000K system reduces shop electrical
consumption by 75%, provides a better working environment for our employees and
improves our colormanagement capabilities, says president and CEO
Steve Johnson.
Motion detectors in the warehouse
automatically turn on and off to reduce unneeded electrical use.
A certified environmental consultant recommended the
ecofriendly system that meets U.S. Department of Energy EPACT standards.
But Copresco hasnt jumped on any green bandwagon. Weve been following commonsense business initiatives since we launched the company 23 years ago this month.
Digital
ondemand is a chemistryfree printing system that doesnt
produce waste. With targeted shortpress runs, you only print copies of
the books, manuals and publications you need when you need them.
This reduces shipping and storage costsand energy
use.
Toner, unlike the petroleumbased ink used in offset and inkjet printing systems, is inert and harmless.
Coprescos new
color-corrected 5000K lighting system
saves energy and enhances our
color-management capabilities.
Paperand Copresco uses plenty of itis a
renewable resource, and we are a major paper recycler.
Paper comes to us in truckloads of cartons. Rather than
just recycling the boxes, we began an initiative in the mid1990s to
donate the containers to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
The humanitarian organization packs the boxes with food to feed hungry people through a charitable network of more than 660 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes and other foodassistance sites.
Coprescos colorcorrected 5000K lighting provides an atmosphere like natural daylight that is easy on the eyes and refreshing.
Its like we took the roof off the building to let the sunshine in, an employee noted.
Colors
look decidedly different when viewed under fluorescent, incandescent or halide
lighting sources. That can cause problems in matching a printed piece with the
designers specs.
Our digital department uses a
special viewing booth with calibrated bulbs and neutral walls for critical
color rendering when proofing color matches.
Our new
lighting means that now everyone sees color more accurately throughout the
plant
So, when you need books, manuals and other
publications printed the way they were designed, call
Copresco.
Well let the sunshine in.
