Copresco's common sense initiatives...

Serve the Environment, Customers and Employees

Green is everywhere. Energy–saving green light bulbs, green furniture, even green mouse pads.
Hardly a month goes by without an ecology–minded group promoting a new green incentive.
Kermit the Frog should be proud.

New Plant Lighting Setup

Copresco found a way to dramatically impact our energy consumption by replacing the outdated lighting system throughout the entire building.
“The new 5000K system reduces shop electrical consumption by 75%, provides a better working environment for our employees and improves our color–management capabilities,” says president and CEO Steve Johnson.
Motion detectors in the warehouse automatically turn on and off to reduce unneeded electrical use.
A certified environmental consultant recommended the eco–friendly system that meets U.S. Department of Energy EPACT standards.

Nothing New to Us

“But Copresco hasn’t jumped on any green bandwagon. We’ve been following common–sense business initiatives since we launched the company 23 years ago this month.”

No Waste

Digital on–demand is a chemistry–free printing system that doesn’t produce waste. With targeted short–press runs, you only print copies of the books, manuals and publications you need when you need them.
This reduces shipping and storage costs—and energy use.

No Chemicals

Toner, unlike the petroleum–based ink used in offset and inkjet printing systems, is inert and harmless.

Copresco’s new color-corrected 5000K lighting system
saves energy and enhances our color-management capabilities.

Better Ways to Use Paper

Paper—and Copresco uses plenty of it—is a renewable resource, and we are a major paper recycler.
Paper comes to us in truckloads of cartons. Rather than just recycling the boxes, we began an initiative in the mid–1990s to donate the containers to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Helping Feed the Hungry

The humanitarian organization packs the boxes with food to feed hungry people through a charitable network of more than 660 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes and other food–assistance sites.

More on Color Management

Copresco’s color–corrected 5000K lighting provides an atmosphere like natural daylight that is easy on the eyes and refreshing.

Let the Sunshine In

“It’s like we took the roof off the building to let the sunshine in,” an employee noted.

Color Proofing

Colors look decidedly different when viewed under fluorescent, incandescent or halide lighting sources. That can cause problems in matching a printed piece with the designer’s specs.
Our digital department uses a special viewing booth with calibrated bulbs and neutral walls for critical color rendering when proofing color matches.
Our new lighting means that now everyone sees color more accurately throughout the plant
So, when you need books, manuals and other publications printed the way they were designed, call Copresco.
   We’ll let the sunshine in.
