Copies Overnight Receives Premier Print Award

Copies Overnight, Inc. has received a Premier Print Award from the Printing Industries of America.

The Carol Stream, Ill. firm won the award in the black and white digital printing category for producing The Handbook of Folding Carton Production. The awards program is known throughout the industry as the most prestigious competition honoring excellence in print.

"Of the more than 5,300 entries received this year, Copies Overnight's was chosen as one that exemplified the highest standards in the printing industry," says Ray Roper, PIA president and CEO.

The premier award — known as the "Benny" — will be presented to Copies Overnight president Steve Johnson and co-owner Chuck Legorreta at a September 29 banquet in Philadelphia.

"We are extremely pleased to be recognized in national competition for our work in the technical documentation field," Johnson says. "Our efforts to maintain high quality standards for all of our customers are paying off."

The folding carton handbook, created by Intertec Publishing Corporation on a Macintosh in QuarkXPress, contains over 300 TIFF and EPS picture files and 20 separate chapters created by different writers. All photos, diagrams, tables and chapters were assembled on the Docutech, then printed and collated as one book. The books were then case bound with a foil-stamped cover.

The PIA award is the second printing industry honor Copies Overnight has received in the past three months. In July, the firm was selected one of the Top 50 Fastest Growing Printers by American Printer magazine.

Copies Overnight as also recently selected Vendor of the Month Award by Videojet Systems International, Inc., Wood Dale, Ill. The award recognizes excellent performance in quality, delivery and customer satisfaction.
