Steve Johnson Named to Rotary Vocational Post

Steve Johnson, president of Copresco, has been named vocational chairman of the Wheaton Rotary Club.

Johnson is ideally suited to Rotary's vocational service program that focuses on needs relating to businesses and professions and the promotion of high ethical standards. He co-founded Copresco in 1987. The Carol Stream firm is a pioneer in digital printing technology and printing on-demand.

A founding member of the Digital Printing Council of the Printing Industries of America, Johnson serves as a consultant and speaker for graphic arts, technical and communications organizations. He is a contributing columnist for American Printer magazine and a director of the Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association.

Johnson was recently appointed to the College of DuPage graphic arts technology advisory committee. The group serves as a liaison between the college and the business community on curriculum development, employment opportunities and technological advancements in the graphic arts industry.

A member of Wheaton Rotary since 1991, Johnson has served on the board of directors and has been active in international service, fundraising, youth exchange and youth leadership training programs, and literacy projects. He was honored as the club's Rotarian of the Year in 1999.

Last month, Johnson attended the Rotary International Convention in Chicago. Some 41,000 members and guests from 155 countries celebrated Rotary's 100th anniversary.

Founded in Chicago in 1905, Rotary is an international organization of 1.2 million business and professional men and women who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and work for world understanding and peace.

The Rotary Club of Wheaton supports a wide range of local and international service projects.
