Chris Arce, an executive assistant for Copresco, has been selected as a
team member for a Rotary District 6440 Group Study Exchange (GSE) to Brazil in
May.
The Rotary Foundation program is a unique cultural and vocational
exchange opportunity for business people and professionals between the ages of
25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides
travel grants for five-member teams to exchange visits in paired areas of
different countries.
The group includes team leader Donna Gulley,
Northbrook; Arce of Chicago; Cindy Huang, Skokie; Ronnie Idowu, Hoffman
Estates; and Scott Nadeau, Waukegan.
The team will be in the
São Paulo area of Brazil for four weeks. They will experience Brazil's
culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad,
develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. Meanwhile,
a GSE team from Brazil will be sharing the same experiences in Chicago's
northern and western suburban area.
Arce studied business
administration at The College of Office Technology in Chicago. She is a May
2009 graduate of the massage therapy program at UEI College in San Diego,
California, and has been active in the community service arena.
"Copresco is a strong supporter of the Group Study Exchange program," says
Steve Johnson, president and CEO, and a Wheaton Rotarian. "Chris and her team
have an exceptional opportunity to be part of an international professional
development program that fosters international understanding and friendship.
This training will help them develop the skills necessary to meet the needs of
an ever-expanding global workplace."
